Merry Christmas 2008

Chistmas is a crazy time of year. Why is it after all the presents are unwrapped that we are left with time to reflect on how NUTS we make it. Our Christmas Eve service really reminded me of how I let the idea of Christmas ruin the true meaning. I'm so worn out by the world standards for Christmas... that I neglect Christ in Christmas. I am so thankful for Jesus in my life. He has allowed me to exist, the sinner that I am. He has blessed me with a wonderful family and two adorable boys. I look forward to 2009 and what it has to bring. I pray for revival for our country and a good year with family and friends. May God Bless you and Your family this Christmas!

He turns 40!!

Okay, today has been even more exhausting! My husband is 40 years old! I can't believe it!! I don't know where all the time has gone! I do know I am thankful for him and so GLAD that God blessed me with Roger in my life. I just could not imagine life without him and my boys. So, I rejoice in knowing that life goes on after 40. :) Roger is so laid back. No excitement. It kinda stinks sometimes! Anyway, we decorated the whole choir room with lovely "Over the Hill" signs and left him a big cake and some balloons. NEVER let a 6 yr old in on a secret... no matter what you tell them.... ELIJAH cannot keep a secret. He busted me at the dinner table before church... no, not on the way but at the house! UGH... Roger just died laughing, what could I say. UGH... Oh well... it's the thought that counts!! Here are a couple of pics from Roger's eventful day. We're going to go out and celebrate Friday night with free tickets to "Fireproof" and dinner somewhere. Just the two of us, relaxing and NO KIDS! :)

A Full Day

Okay, today was no normal day. I'm exhausted!! We did our usual thing - get up early, go to school, work and home. We stopped in at the house for 5 minutes to let the dog out and then headed to Lynn Meadows Discovery Center for our guest in town - Bob the Builder!! Course, we were only home 5 minutes and Elijah pulled his 2nd tooth out!! The permanent one had already come in behind the baby teeth so we were glad to see it go. Bob was fun and we enjoyed the show and the activity tables afterwards. The boys hit the tree houses outside to spend some energy and then we headed to Chick fil-a. Our church puppet team was there for kids night. So, we ate dinner, watched the puppet program and visited with our friends. Oh, and the kids played in the playground area. I should have been able to rest then, but no.... it was SO LOUD in there!! We finally headed home to check on daddy, do homework and get our baths. Anyway, for a busy day... we had a lot of fun. Momma just wants to hit her pillow!

End of Summer fun!

It never ceases to amaze me how blessed we are with the friendships we have. God is so good at providing those friendships that help us grow through each stage of life. Today, I am grateful for these group of children. My boys love hanging out with their friends and it is evident that they all love hanging out together. We are thankful for this blessing. Yes, with every stage of life, things change and friends move on. Today I just want to appreciate the time we have. The kids had a blast last Friday after school swimming.
